COVID-19 UPDATE AND HOW ALBION ANTIQUE AUCTION CENTRE WILL OPERATE

To all our valued customers, YES we will be Open for Business however We have waited for directives from our association (Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia and the directives from the Aust Federal and State Govt). We are trying to remain open and service our customers in these uncertain times, and my number one priority as the owner is the health and safety of the Staff and our Clients. We have made changes as to how things operate and will continue to monitor and review them to ensure all of our health and safety in this uncertain time. With the adoption of the AVAA Auction Protocol and our own house rules, we feel this is going to be the best way to conduct our business moving forward.

AUCTIONS

As instructed by the Prime Minister on Tues 25th of March Traditional auctions for the moment will no longer occur. We have decided to move all the auctions for this period to the platform INVALUABLE.COM, previously we had charged the 5% USD surcharge that we get charged by Invaluable to use their platform to all successful invaluable clients, in the current climate I have decided to absorb that costs, so ALL auctions and bidding methods for the moment will have, the buyers premium of 16.5%. Our auctions will work the same as our Sunday sales as in you can bid Online Live, Absentee or by Phone, whatever way your successful you only pay 16.5 % Buyers Premium. NO one can PHYSICALLY attend the auction no longer to keep our doors open this is one of the sacrifices that have to occur.

VIEWING

By Appointment ONLY, we prefer not to have people view, we will try to provide you with sufficient photos, and estimates on invaluable, we will also be offering Facetime Inspections where one of the staff can video chat with you, or you can request the old fashion condition report. I will also do for each auction a Facebook live walk thru tour of the auction, This is all aimed at limiting people for viewing while giving you as much information to decide if you wish to bid in the auction.

COLLECTION & DELIVERY

We are more than willing to help organize Carriers, or Post items to you ( at your cost) If you do want to collect your assets, again APPOINTMENT ONLY, my staff will get your items together for you, and you will be assigned an area to pack and remove your items. We will also be working with our carriers to get your cheap drop off of items to the front door of your home for those who don’t wish to leave the comfort or isolation of their homes.

PAYMENTS

We will not be accepting CASH, payments to be made via Credit/Debit Card or Bank Transfer. As we move to Online Only, Vendor Payments will no doubt be done later as payment and collection/delivery for online is always somewhat delayed which will push out our normal timeframes

CONSIGNING / BOOKING IN

We are taking items in, but this will be done by Purely Appointment Only, we will be making changes to what we take in now that we have to move to an online model, so moving forward No corner lots will be taken in at this stage. We will also be a bit more selective at this time as Online is a lot more time consuming for us. We will also be a lot more distant from you as a customer, you will fill in the consignment book and be allocated an area to drop off your items, we will then email you a copy of your consignment, so to minimize your time onsite and reduce the risks for our staff and yourself.

First off DO NOT ATTEND our site if you are sick, unwell or think you’re unwell. Our Sanitation station will remain at the front of the door, everyone that has appointments MUST clean their hands when entering our building, gloves are available to use if you wish. We will be significantly limiting the number of people on our site at any given time to Less than 4 or 2 groups with a max of 2 people, and Social Distancing of a minimum of 1.5m MUST be adhered too.

NO EXCEPTIONS This is a unique time we are currently in and for us it will be a complete change of how we have done things over our previous 26 years of the family Business. This business over that period has had 4 generations of The Trindall Family have been working to give you the best auction room in Brisbane and we aim to be around for many years to come. Our Customers, Staff are like family, and we are wanting to operate so we just ask you to support us and your other local businesses now and over the next few months. We realize that the majority of our clients maybe doing it tough, I’ve adopted the mantra tough times don’t last, tough people do. Stay Strong, Healthy and Positive.
